a true creative pioneer and host of one of the hippest shows to ever

be broadcast on television, don cornelius was found dead in his

los angeles home earlier today.

growing up, watching don cornelius preside over soul train was

like peering into another dimension that couldn't be found in the

mean streets of my hometown of dubuque, iowa.

i was turned on to sly, michael, the commodores, the floaters...

you name it.

my older brother and i used to try our best at impersonating that deep,

silky smooth voice until we were blue in the face.

we never did get it right, but we tried.

what he did for all the artists and fans and popular culture as a whole...

we all owe him our most sincere thanks and our deepest gratitude.

die antwoord has been creating unbelieveably weird, compelling music
(and images) for the last few years.

in the cut

we've been working diligently in our fabrication studio, trying to
complete a number of furniture commissions before we find
ourselves knee deep in our next major project (that we can't mention
quite yet due to a nondisclosure agreement).

we're so horrible at keeping secrets, we've sequestered ourselves
in our tomales studio for way too many hours at a time for the past
couple weeks.

we look forward to seeing the sunshine come february.

putting the grrr in guitar

we had a chance to hang out with local guitar maker, barry grzebik,
last weekend and have a personal tour of not only his custom guitars,
but his shop and home.

greg even had a chance to play an original grez guitar and jam a little
standard blues with barry.

his attention to detail and personal touch make these guitars a fierce
sought-after commodity for the true guitar aficionado.

(now if we only had an extra few thousand dollars laying around to be able
to afford one of these true works of art, greg would be a happy man.)

developing a new identity for his company, cameraworks.

specializing in technology for the next generation of cinematographers,
yet maintaining a respect for the traditions established in the past
century, evans is known for his work on true blood, the wire and
many award winning films, such as in the bedroom, state and main,
among others.
