like most things, the design process can become something of a
routine after a number years. we try and maintain a fresh approach
to all our work and more often than not, it's the client that helps
us from becoming too predictable.
this stands as the latest example: a pair of bedside lamps for a
new client in sausalito. at seventy eight years of age, she has a
pretty good idea what she likes and dislikes. and she LOVES form3.
(we hashed this design out together the old-school way in our first
meeting: pencil on 1/8" graph paper. it may have been the most
direct design experience we've had in years.)
