metal on metal

after months of working and re-working ideas for the new
timbuk2 flagship store design in san francisco, the form3
crew is finally entering the production and fabrication stage.

we are SO stoked!

this is a sneak preview of the new fabric panel display we've
been beginning to assemble this week.

if you find yourself in hayes valley come early november, make
sure to stop in and customize your own bag and fix your looking
balls on the work will have just installed only days earlier.

you will most-likely freak out.

you think we're kidding?

we're not.

you're gonna FREAK!!

ready, sit, go

we love making new pieces for old clients.

these go out to spend the rest of their lives with a
view of the san francisco bay from the hills that make
up pacific heights.

aren't they lucky.

we hope geoff and bay treat them with the love
and respect all form3 chairs deserve.

no doubt they will!

bucking the trend

we're back to our old tricks, helping out with the tee-shirt
design for one of our favorite watering holes in this fine
town we call home.

family owned for nearly seventy-five years, the buckhorn
tavern is more like having a beer in a rec room with your
family than a tasty beverage at any old bar.

cold 16oz cans of bud for $2?

uh, yeah.

see you there tonight for ladies pool league.

no dope, no hope

working with the dope crew at the end of last summer kept
us firing on all cylinders as we raced to the finish line, trying
to complete their interior on fairfax ave in los angeles before
their grand opening date in mid-september.

it all worked out beautifully and this week marks their first
anniversary.

they're celebrating with lucille ghatti dropping an in-store
performance from her latest effort, high grade.

stop in and check it out this thursday evening, sep 13th
at 6pm.

it should be dope.

for real.

super cool

having worked closely with a number of retail clients over the
years (in relation to our architectural design) has helped establish a
reputation with a certain niche market for form3: the streetwear
boutique.

whether it's been aristocrats, bent, benny gold, black scale,
dope, house of commons, illest, trust nobody or undefeated
...form3 has had the opportunity to create some pretty cool
interiors over the years.

the one that started it all back in 2001, huf, was named one of the
top 100 coolest places by complex magazine (also on that list was
undefeated).

creating those flagship stores in san francisco and working with huf
was a great beginning to a long and fruitful relationship.

some of those early days are where we met alfred (from black scale),
benny, mega (from black scale) and many others.

it's great to get the level of recognition for our past work, but we also
look forward to being on that list next decade, too.

movin' on up

big news for all those who worship the grandfather of
american architecture.

frank lloyd wright's oeuvre of thousands of archived
drawings, photos, models and other documents will move
from wisconsin and arizona to new york city, the
architect's foundation announced yesterday.

the museum of modern art and columbia university's
avery  architectural & fine arts library acquired the vast
archives -- which include 23,000 architectural drawings,
44,000 historical photographs, large-scale presentation models,
manuscripts, letters and other documents -- and they will
become part of the institutions' permanent collections.

moma will house the models; columbia will preserve the
documents.

for any architecture or design enthusiast, this gives you yet
another reason to get to the big apple and enjoy the splendors
of that world class city.

we'll see you there.

the kids are alright

after an amazing display of talent, camaraderie and tenacity,
the petaluma nationals little league team returned to their
hometown after placing 3rd in the little league world series,
beating panama in their final game in williamsport, pa.

a feat no other petaluma team has accomplished in their
entire history.

being a petaluma resident and a fan of the game, we watched
throughout the last month as they continued to win games and
head east to represent the west region for united states
little league.

yesterday, the city of petaluma gave them a ticker tape parade
and the keys to the city to honor their accomplishment.

norman rockwell couldn't have painted a better picture of what
took place.

truly awesome.
